Past Illuminate Concerts - 2018 concert series:
Illuminate 2018 concert series aims to shining light on the works of women composers and performers. The concert series has been set up by Dr Angela Elizabeth Slater. The concert series will programme new works by composers Angela Elizabeth Slater, Gemma McGregor, Blair Boyd, Sarah Westwood and Carol J Jones, written for performers Késia Decoté (piano), Cassie Matthews (guitar), Sabina Virtosu (violin) and composer-performer Gemma McGregor (flute/shakuhachi). These new works will be performed alongside pieces by a number of historical women composers such as Morfydd Owen, Lily Boulanger, and Amy Beach.

The 2018 Illuminate concert series activities was supported by the Ambache Charitable Trust, Hinrichsen Foundation, RVW Trust and Gemma Classical Music Trust. Illuminate is grateful for this support in making its inaugural series possible!
